Majornas Bowling grew with simplicity — and a POS that just works.

Gothenburg’s oldest bowling hall — running since 1963 — under a new generation of restaurateurs. One system ties the lanes, the bar and Restaurant Backen together on a single, shared bill.

“Bowling was new to us — the restaurant we knew. We wanted to tie the whole place together so guests can bowl, eat, drink and just have a good time.”

— Rasmus Hansén · founder · Majornas Bowling & Restaurant Backen

The challenge

Behind the takeover sit experienced names from Gothenburg’s restaurant scene — Jesper Carlson, Rasmus Hansén, Sam Barker and Jakob Johansson — used to a high pace, full dining rooms and systems that just work.

The old POS was slow, hard to update and tied to a single computer. Bills were split awkwardly between the restaurant and the lanes, and you couldn’t see real-time statistics. They needed a single system that could grow with the place, not hold it back.

The fix

After comparing suppliers, the team chose OPEN. Restaurant Backen and the lanes now run in one flow — Multipay keeps the bill together wherever the guest is sitting, standing or playing.

With web-based BackOffice, the owners can manage menus, track sales and plan staff from anywhere. No more late nights in the office — just a real-time overview, opened on a phone if needed.

The result

Stable operation with no interruptions. Orders move faster. Tabs collect cleanly across the lanes, bar and dining room. Staff find the new system far easier than the old one — and OPEN’s technicians installed everything on-site, so no owner had to be the IT department.

During the summer, the ground floor was renovated for more service space and a new bar. OPEN is part of the planning — same system, more terminals.

“The user-friendliness is far ahead of the old system. The team finds the new POS much easier to work with.”
